MAY:  Pay Yourself First!

Most people save whatever money is left over at the end of the month—if anything is left. That mindset will keep you broke and busted! Instead, adopt the principle of “paying yourself first.” It means setting aside a fixed amount of money for your savings or investments before you pay bills, buy groceries, or spend on anything else. In fact, treat it like a bill!

Whether it's $50 or $500, the amount matters less than the habit. Automate it. Have it drafted to a separate savings account, investment account, or retirement fund as soon as your paycheck hits.

When saving becomes a priority instead of an afterthought, you take real control of your financial future.
